At Bellator 137 former Bantamweight champion Eduardo "dudu" Dantas made a successful return with a unanimous decision win over Mike Richman. Regardless, Halsey defeated his opponent Kendall Grove via TKO at 2:25 of round 4. Halsey was stripped of his belt.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship made its debut in The Philippines for UFC Fight Night 66. And in the main event Frankie Edgar, former Lightweight champion turned Featherweight contender, defeated Urijah Faber via unanimous decision and winning all five rounds in the process.

Ed Ruth, a three-time national championship wrestler at Penn State, has signed with Bellator.

UFC Heavyweights Josh Barnett and Roy "Big Country" Nelson will serve as coaches for "Road to UFC: Japan," a show similar to The Ultimate fighter where eight Japanese fighters will look to earn a spot with the promotion. Barnett and Nelson will meet later this year in a fight held in Japan.
