ONE Championship 27 saw one man defend his belt and another win an inaugural title. Thailand's Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke won the inaugural Men's Strawweight championship with a unanimous decision win over Roy Doliguez. In the main event Japanese superstar Shinya Aoki utilized his world famous grappling to defeat Koji Ando by unanimous decision.

Even with the pulling of former Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones from the fight card, UFC 187 was heavily hyped. It lived up to those expectations. Heavyweights Andrei Arlovski and Travis Browne took part in a slug fest that took home "fight of the night". Arlovski got the better of the brawl with a TKO win coming at 4:41 of round 1. Lightweight Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone earned his eighth straight win with a TKO victory over John Makdessi at 4:44 of round 2. Chris Weidman defeated Vitor Belfort via TKO at 2:53 of round 1 to retain his Middleweight belt. And finally, Daniel Cormier defeated Anthony "Rumble" Johnson by way of rear naked choke at 2:39 of round 3 to win the vacant Light Heavyweight championship.

The UFC has announced that they plan to host their first event in South Korea. The targeted date is November 28.

WSOF has released Women's Strawweight champion Jessica Aguilar who is ranked first in the world for the division.

Both RFA and WSOF signed several fighters to their respective rosters this past week. All three WSOF signees are Russian fighters.
