9/27/15

For the first time in awhile, Bellator held its second event in the span of two weeks time. Bellator 143 saw Featherweight Emmanuel Sanchez defeat Henry Corrales by split decision in the nights most exciting fight. Middleweight Kendall Grove won his first fight since his defeat to the champion. Grove got past fellow UFC veteran Joey Beltran via TKO at 2:27 of round 3. Finally, Bantamweight Joe Warren made strides towards the belt he once possessed with a unanimous decision over L.C. Davis.

However, UFC Fight Night Japan, otherwise known as UFC Fight Night 75, took home the prize for best event of the weekend. Bantamweight Takeya Mizugaki earned a unanimous decision over George Roop. Kyoji Horiguchi won his come back fight after his challenge for the Flyweight title. Horiguchi defeated Chico Camus by way of unanimous decision. Middleweight Uriah Hall won in highlight fashion with a flying spinning back kick TKO over Gegard Mousasi at :25 of round 2. And in the main event Josh Barnett defeated Roy "Big Country" Nelson by unanimous decision.

A plea hearing for former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been set for Sept. 29.

Invicta FC has signed TUF Strawweight veteran Lisa Ellis. Four other fighters were also signed.

Former Lightweight champion Michael Chandler will take on Dave Rickels in a rematch that will headline Bellator 145. Chandler won the first meeting decisively.

An inaugural Flyweight title fight is set for WSOF 24. The two contenders are Magomed Bibulatov and Donavon Frelow.
